You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have Ubuntu 11.04 with 1024MB NVIDIA® GT525M GeForce video card. The machine is Dell XPS. I tried to install nVidia binary drivers via "Additional drivers". The installation completed successfully. After restart, the classic Gnome has started instead the new manager and there was a message "This driver is installed but not currently in use".
