Thanks, Beat, for following up. Your problem seems to be solved, but it's different from the problem originally reported by Vladimir.
@Vladimir: I saw the same problem when I updated my developer system from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04 earlier today. After running "sudo aticonfig --initial -f" X could start successfully on my system. Please try if this solves your problem as well. @Ben: your log file doesn't show any useful information regarding fglrx because you were using the Radeon driver at the time. Please also try "sudo aticonfig --initial -f", which will fix up your xorg.conf and wipe out any stale settings from the previous driver version. If that still gives you problems, please attach an Xorg.0.log produced with the failing driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747729 Title: fglrx crashes X server on startup _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
