** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

When resuming from suspend or hibernation, X does not check if the
monitor configuration has changed. This can leave the system unable to
be used because a new monitor is not activated.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Operate laptop on a docking station with external monitor. The laptop lid
should be closed.
  2. Suspend Ubuntu.
  3. Undock laptop.
  4. Open lid and resume Ubuntu.

  Result:
The laptop monitor remains off even though the system resumes leaving the
system unusable. The only recourse is to hard power off which crashes the
session and loses all open data.

  Expected result:
Upon resume, Ubuntu should notice that the monitor configuration has changed
and should retarget the display to the laptop screen.
