Yes, 173 version isn't affected with this white windows bug but it has a big issue about the waking up from suspend (at least in my case: nvidia GeForce 6200Go in a laptop so I often use suspend). If I wanna use unity I have to use Nouevau Gallium 3D driver which is working good but approx. 5 times slower.
