So if you've landed on this thread looking for a solution suitable for a newby, here's what worked for me without needing a command line or great knowledge:
Open "Ubuntu Software Center" Click on "Installed Software" Search for "nvidia" Remove all resulting packages except for "jockey-gtk" and "jockey- common" (remember them in case you want to reinstall after the upgrade) Try the upgrade again. This worked to get me from Lynx to Meercat when I ran into the errors described above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libdrm in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/614993 Title: 10.04 -> 10.10 upgrade fails: pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks: xserver-xorg-video-v4l demoted to universe _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
