I use 10.10 on Acer 1825 PTZ I have always to login in a console, restard gdm and than the mouse works. It did not work once in the release. I think it may have worked for a while in the beta. By the way if I do not restart the gdm before logging in, The left mouse button does not work, so I have to enter the password 4 instead of 3 times. I did not try any previous ubuntu version.
