The hangs do not occur every time I blank the screen using xset dpms force off. Sometimes it occurs the 1st time I do it, sometimes after many blanks. I'm on jaunty with the 2.6.28-11-generic kernel, with the latest xserver-xorg-core and have the xserver-xorg-video-intel packages from the xorg-edgers ppa.
