I have the same problem. AltGr stop to work after a while. The problem affect only gnome : altgr work in terminal (ctrl+alt+F1) and with xev.
I use Ubuntu 9.04 with 2 usb keyboard (Logitech UltraFlat and TypeMatrix 2030) and tree layout.
