Well, you can get one retroactively, I'm sure. AFAIK, it uses your membership date on Launchpad. Don't forget, I'm a relatively new member. I had considered it several times but didn't because I didn't understand it's real value. I mean, I'm not in it for the karma or anything. I don't need to have recognition to feel valued. I'll contribute no matter what. The thing that really motivated me was being in a leadership position. I felt it was important to appear officially involved.
