(Removable ) standard memory installed. For best system performance
use the maximum amount of allowed RAM per slot for your system. "
Can you think of a use case for a no-GUI laptop? For KMUZ, I was
hoping to make a audacity audio-capture/editing system, or maybe a web
browser station for research, but the absolute least demanding but
useful thing that might be possible w/o GUI would be a dedicated audio
player, like plug a FAT thumbdrive in and play mp3s off a menu. Any of
those seem possible?

Of course, if you don't run a GUI, you're home free. You can install and
run the server edition, with its command line interface, on as little as
128 MB. And you wondered why old timers call GUIs "bloated".
