Friends, The elections remains underway. Only 2.2% of the eligible electorate (meaning people who are part of the Ubuntu Ohio team on Launchpad) have voted. 7 or 8 out of over 300 have voted.
Burning Circle 9B is now up where we can hear from Paul about the whole election process and how it works. You can find the episode in Ogg Vorbis format directly at http://ohio.ubuntu-us.org/sites/default/files/BC9B.ogg Let's walk through the instructions on voting again. This is mostly done at the command line. STEP 1: curl http://me.pault.ag/paultag.asc | gpg --import This step download's Paul's public key and imports it into your GPG keyring for use in a later step. STEP 2: sensible-editor vote This step can be done differently on your own end. "sensible-editor" invokes an editor from the command line of your choice to type the names of your choices into a text file that will be named "vote". STEP 3: cat vote | gpg --encrypt -r B7982329 > vote.asc This step takes your text file and turns it into a secret ballot only able to be opened by Paul. STEP 4: rm vote This burns your unsecure copy of your choices. STEP 5: attach vote.asc in your response vote.asc is a binary attachment that contains your vote in an encrypted format. Such should be sent to paul...@ubuntu.com. Your candidates to choose from continue to be: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 1. William Chambers 2. Patrick Best 3. Jon Buckley 4. Jacob Peddicord 5. Chris Miller 6. Stephen Michael Kellat 7. Michael Gilbert -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Good luck and happy voting.
