I recently found this launchpad team and sent this email to their email list with details on my efforts to debug an S3 resume issue on this new laptop hardware I'm testing out. I will be using this machine for a presentation with Lyz about 12.04 at http://balug.org in about a month so I would like to try to get it solved before then. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

My search on launchpad didn't find any duplicates yet but I'm still looking. I found some instructions and followed them to get the following result: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend [ 1.107206] Magic number: 4:6:31 [ 1.107213] hash matches /build/buildd/linux-3.2.0/drivers/base/power/main.c:600 When I try to suspend I get a black screen with the backlight on. I am using the proprietary AMD drivers at the moment. I enabled the "ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver" via "Additional Drivers" on Ubuntu 12.04. $ lspci -v | egrep -i VGA 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Wrestler [Radeon HD 6320] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) $ sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name 4383 $ sudo dmidecode -s system-version Lenovo G575 -- Ubuntu-us-ca mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-us-ca
