Greetings. I'm a n00b at Linux meeting but I'd like to get involved with others
to give back to Ubuntu

Would that be Chapman University in Orange? That would work for me and a
Saturday even would also be better.

Sincerely

Frank Harris-Smith

Either day works for me, and Chapman works for me. We should pick the date asap,
methinks.

After the meeting last night, some more progress was made on planning our Bug
Jam. Summarized here:

1) We can host it at Chapman, though it can certainly be held elsewhere. We
have decent wireless internet, and I can bring in an extra access point/switch
from work to ensure the best connectivity. Sometimes its good to work for the
man.

2) We need to figure out when were holding the event: August 8th (Friday
evening) or August 9th (Saturday during the day). I would prefer Friday, though
a day long event would be cool, and allow everyone ample time to show up.

3) The general plan is to have a keysigning event (more info on that later),
followed by a presentation about how to triage/squash bugs, and the rest of the
time will be dedicated to working together to make Ubuntu better.

If youre interested in helping out with developing Ubuntu, nows a great chance.
You dont need to know any programming, and itll be fun to get everyone together.
As always, ideas are welcome and appreciated.

   Hey everyone!

If you havent heard about the Ubuntu Global Bug Jam, its a huge event dedicated
to fixing issues in Ubuntu packages and Open Source software on the weekend of
August 8th-10th. LoCo teams around the world are holding events to get together
and learn how to help with debugging. There are some events in #ubuntu-meeting
this weekend and in two weeks, so interested parties should check there. In the
meantime, Helping With Bugs is a great resource for learning how to triage. I
think this would be a lot of fun for developers and those interested in coding,
and is a great way to give back to the community.
