The idea is that you test the package yourself before submission rather than use the publishing process for support and QA. Have you successfully built a Debian package from your config and installed it on a clean machine or VM. You should do that and confirm that the files deployed go in the right place and the package follows the packaging guidelines before uploading it. Cheers, Al.
