Hi all,

Every release we have a party in London because it's where the office
is and lots of users and community people are there too. Nothing is
stopping people having a get together in another part of the
country/world, this mail is specifically about London.

The release party often draws some people who get together to chat,
have beer, laugh, recount geeky tales, and celebrate the new release.
Lets do that again. Typically we do that on release day, which for
14.04 is April 17th. Note that Friday after release is a Bank Holiday.

Should we have one in London, and where should we have it?

Now typically, more recently not a huge number of people turn up. It
was suggested by Michelle in the office that we could invite people to
have a drink at the office rather than everyone all trek to a random
rubbish pub somewhere. The side benefit of this is for people who plan
to go away over the Easter weekend can have a quick drink and
disappear rather than make an evening of it. For those who want to
make an evening of it, can find another nearby bar/restaurant after
the office clears out to carry on the merriment.

Sound like a plan?

Cheers,
Al.
