As a part of updating our classroom sessions[1] we will be inviting people into both the testing and release teams. A lot of work actually happens there in terms of priotising bugs etc.
Instead of 'complaining' about things on an email list please file a bug. Simply put? The devs do not read ubuntu-uk mailing list for bugs. Please get involved with testing... We have got some of the systems for testing updated (we still have an up stream bug for KVM which has a work around) The goal for all of those who actually give a damn is for the next release to be better than the last.
