Can confirm this. If you do it by mistake you can get your system back by getting up a terminal (ctrl+alt+F1) and doing sudo apt-get install [name of 304 driver] then do sudo modprobe [name of driver] and you'll get back in OK. If you are not sure of the driver name, look in /var/cache/apt/archives for something beginning with nvidia and use the first part of the name (up to the release numbers).
