Yes I have been of this opinion for some time.
Part of the advantage of Ubuntu is that, like the Apple OSs, it does
not front with a *nix, it is offered as a complete system. Most
computer users out there really do not care about what their system is
based on. And that does not motivate them well to be bothered to
change from what they are currently using. Incidentally, that brings
'Marketing' to mind ......
