We thought we would get into the spirit of the season and do a pre-Olympics warmup event, and what could be warmer than sitting in a lovely old steam train drinking some of the finest ales available!

The Real Ale Train or RAT is an evening service on a restored steam powered railway line in Hampshire. The train has a couple of bar carriages and seating in proper old comfy train seats. It trundles up and down the line a couple of times stopping at stations between Alton and Alresford. On board there is food (curry & rice , sausage in a bun etc.) and beer, sometimes cider, and probably wine and soft drinks too. At the end of the evening it connects with the mainline train back towards London.
