As stated, you will only get the advertised higher speeds with a Virgin Optical Fibre connection. When virgin cabled our nearest town, 3 miles away, they did not cut in to our village of 6000.BT will provide broadband to a cabinet, less than a 1/4 mile away so when it happens, we shoulddo better than the 2.5 megs that we have already.Optical fibre should be laid into every address, but the too political, "who pays" policy remainsunresolved.Currently, Virgin seen to offer the best available speeds, as long as you have their optical fibreinstalled at your address. For me, it remains a waiting game.
