That's not what you downloaded, though. The package files available are:

linux-headers-3.0.0-0300rc1-generic_3.0.0-0300rc1.201105310830_amd64.deb
linux-headers-3.0.0-0300rc1_3.0.0-0300rc1.201105310830_all.deb
linux-image-3.0.0-0300rc1-generic_3.0.0-0300rc1.201105310830_amd64.deb

All of which are explicitly 'linux headers' or 'linux image',
version 3.0.0

I think the problem here is that you were directed at a pretty
anonymous index of a directory by someone who had assumed you knew more
about this than you did.

It doesn't 'forget' to mention oneiric. The development of the 3.0.0
kernel for Ubuntu is part of the Oneiric project, because Oneiric is
the first Ubuntu version to use a 3.0 kernel.

So the directory has 'Oneiric' in its name because it's part of the
Oneiric 'project'. The packages themselves are not called 'oneiric' at
all because they aren't oneiric. They just happen to be a package in
Oneiric.
