Just a couple of points: 1) Make sure any webcam you get is UVC compliant. Logitech list their UVC webcams at http://www.quickcamteam.net/devices There is a more general list at http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/#devices 2) Its the device ID that is important. It has been known for manufacturers to use the Model numbers for different ID's, usually in different countries. My C250 has ID 046d:0804 and was bought in the UK.
