Not really. My username is po...@joindiaspora.com which is a pretty
sucky username to be honest.

The idea of a federated system is you could setup your own diaspora
instance, and call yourself whatever you like.

So I could register a domain and be a...@familypopey.com or something
nice and short if I choose. I could keep that to just my family. Or I
could in theory allow other people on it. Registering at
Joindiaspora.com just means you have a presence _there_ it doesn't
have to be your Canonical presence or indeed your only one.
