Matt, Just for your peace of mind... I also have a Mint (9) installation - I use it only for Wine so as not to 'pollute' my Ubuntu set up. I can guarantee that up to Mint 9 it is in fact Ubuntu based. Mint 9 proudly boasts itself the fact that it is built on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I do not know anything about Mint10 however.
