Matthew, Yes, this is a good point that you have raised. I have considered the IMAP solution and have put it off. - It's a case of 'old dog - new tricks'! In the light of my recent experiences, I think I will look into this again and maybe bite the bullet. Thanks for giving me a bit of a nudge!
