Asus said the same to me when I got a netbook from them. I emailed them about their warranty before I wiped Windows but they said it was fine. Just don't expect us to support the software. I think it would be a pretty poor show of any PC manufacturer to not warranty the hardware irrespective of what software is, or isn't, installed.
