Hi all Sorry about the Site got killed... It was a moment of panic as I did not know what to do (I come more from a desktop environment and not a Web one) AND it was 17:00 (going home time) I am usually a lot more detailed in my descriptions of errors and analysis...
Thanx to all that gave positive input and links, It looks like something on the server changed on the /tmp path as it is a shared server and according to http://drupal.org/node/791154 this might have been the case so I changed my /tmp to something else and the site came back.
