Mines using Ubuntu, but I set the machine up to dual-boot just in case she doesn't get on with Ubuntu, as a backup. I've also taken an image of her machine and have put that in a virtual machine (virtualbox) on my pc. So when I screencast I can guarantee that what I record is exactly what she'll see. > I think the problem with ubuntu on my parents computers (have nearly > convinced my dad to try - will push him for at least dual-boot) is they are > worried about support if things go wrong. > That's the big issue. My brother and sister tried to convince my mum not to listen to me, and not use Ubuntu because if she did _they_ wouldn't be able to support her. I can see their argument but given I kinda know what I'm doing with computers and neither of them really do (having both had virus infestations on their computers recently), I figured I'm better off at that. > I would help as much as I can but I live 200 miles away and don't get > there very often unfortunatelyt. Yeah, I'm lucky in that I live about 2 mins from my mum :) Cheers, Al. -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/
