Hello, Rob.

I was quite keen to run Ubuntu on a PS3 too until I found out about the 
*severe* memory constraints of this computer: The main CPU can only 
access 256MiB of the *maximum* 512MiB RAM that can be installed, but the 
GPU can access the other 256MiB. One of the 'Synergistic' processors is 
also permanently locked out, even if you use the TerraSoft/Fixstars YDL 
kernel:

This extra processor can only be used by proprietary applications. Add 
to this the announcement by IBM that it has stopped developing the Cell 
processor and my interest in the PS3 has quickly evaporated!
