I dunno about the second aspect as I'm not religous when it comes to software. It's what you like and what works best for you ;) hence the .sig I have a sony PRS-600 ereader. It also has a very basic mp3 player (plays mp3 & aac) I went for the 600 because I like having books read to me almost as much as I like reading.
