Well, iFuse definitely worked! After installing iFuse the iTouch
appeared on the desktop as an iPod.

Only problem now is that I can't unmount the iPod (aka: iTouch) as the
user, I have to unmount it as root. Is there a way I can edit the fstab
or something to let the user unmount it? Reason I think it's fstab is
that when I plug the device in again it then names it as iPod_, if I
unmount and plug it in again it names it iPod__ and keeps adding
underscores each time it's plugged in which confuses Amarok no end...

Also, Amarok (1.4 btw) now has the 8gb iTouch (Black) in it's list of
devices, but it seems to want the iTouch's unique ID, how do I best go
about getting it?

Once Amarok gets the ID code (and thus disconnects properly) and the
user can unmount the device it should work a treat and I should have my
first Windows (Vista) > Ubuntu conversion! Yaaaayyy!
