Basically as long as you can give it enough memory (I think it's a minimum of 512MB, but more ideally about 1 to 2GB) then it should work okay. Of course it'll help if your processor supports virtualisation technology (most AMD processors from the Athlon X2 upwards and some Athlon 64 chips support AMD-V and the higher range of Intel CPU's support Intel VT-x) but it isn't required.
