The SSDs in the EEE PCs are actually IC's that are mounted directly onto the
motherboard. Therefore it is almost impossible to change them.

Fair enough.  If I see any during my browsing I'll post the details on 
the mailing list.  Failing that, is it possible to swap out the SSD with 
a hard disk? (I presume they're SATA anyway, but IIRC the Aspire with an 
SSD is slightly smaller than the hard drive version).
