oh, quite so, Al, but I am merely trying to remove the things I myself added yesterday - not items that were on the LiveCD, or that came with the automatic updates that I received when I went online after running the LiveCD and installing ubuntu 8.10 from it. In fact, I chose these two add-ons, gnash and swfdec, without any thought at all, and I realise I must be much more cautious about add-ons in future.
