Hi, Freemind is a great mindmapping programme, and is the only programme I use regularly that works on linux, mac and windows! I would strongly recommend installing the .deb file direct from the freemind website - http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7118&package_id=161831&release_id=574421
