Newbie nightmares aside, the new kubuntu - (kde 4.1?) looks like a toolkit for a lot of real pleasure and fun - I look forward to enjoying it in a rather similar way to compiz, which I *love* to show off. The trick is to get somebody who is not expecting stuff, and hope to arrange for a jaw drop situation.
