Well it's interesting but Likewise doesn't do the job. I presume it's fine for Active Directory authentication but I'm not trying to authenticate agaist AD, I'm trying to authenticate against either a Samba 3/NT 4.0 type domain or LDAP. I've tried following this guide for LDAP authentication in Hardy whilst using Hardy.1 in a VM: http://linuxadministration.us/2008/05/17/ubuntu-804-hardy-ldap-client/ It comes up with an error message saying: Failed to enumerate nameservice: Transport endpoint is not connected passwd… nameservice unavailable.
