Don't be silly :P (I know you weren't being - I am aware of the discomfort there - however I feel that while the cause is noble, the argument is pretty much pointless) However it's worth mentioning that the group focuses on *freedom* not 'linux'. I, personally, am just as interested at trying to persuade schools to teach their IT skills using OO.o & FFx as getting schools to gnu/linux desktops. I think sustainable, small steps are a good thing to focus on as they are achievable in the short term. In reference to the FSF (and the Savannah project), while clasifying us as a "Free Software User Group" and providing us with a mailing list, we are not directly affiliated with them and as it stands, I'm happy keeping it that way. It's worth pointing out that whilst people disagree with each other it does not necessarily stop them working together on common ground. (The converse of course is that just because you share the same views doesn't mean you *can* work happily alongside each other!) Above all, don't take anything I've just said as the groups "official" position. the group is just getting started and some friendly discussion on these issues is inevitable, however I hope the group will be as inclusive as possible.
