Make it clear that you were organising *something*, and keeping us informed of all the progress or not that you make. Even if you were having trouble, knowing that you were dealing with it would let others know *something* is happening, and maybe even help. Keeping things to yourself until you have a complete plan is not perhaps the best thing.
