There is a known fault sending files from a phone to a PC with Hardy, it seems to only fail with certain handsets, usually Symbian based phones, just like the Z8 you have and the Nokia 6630 I have. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/obex-data-server/+bug/211252 I can send files from my computer to my phone, but not from my phone to my computer.
