Hello, Andrew. Thanks - I didn't know about UCK. > There are others too, such as remastersys and reconstructor. I've used both of these: Reconstructor, in particular, is very good. There is a little bug with Feisty "usplash" under 6.06.1 LTS, but that is easily fixed (i.e. commented out ;-). > > but what about the larger capacity DVDs? > > A DVD of Dapper does exist, I know this because it came with "The > Official Ubuntu Book". Also there's a Hardy DVD: You can create DVD images with Reconstructor, eityher of the 'live' DVD, or custom install DVD, but the intended use of these is quite different. In the case of the 'live' DVD, you are extracting the CD/DVD filesystem onto the hard disk. In the case of the 'alternate' install CD/DVD, you are creating a custom 'seeded' install from deb's you copy onto the custom CD/DVD, which is useful if you don't have an internet connection. > http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/dvd/current/ > > Dunno about the other versions. I'm going to download UCK to try it out :-) Thanks for the tip, Tony. -- Dr. A.J.Travis, | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Rowett Research Institute, | http://www.rri.sari.ac.uk/~ajt Greenburn Road, Bucksburn, | phone:+44 (0)1224 712751 Aberdeen AB21 9SB, Scotland, UK. | fax:+44 (0)1224 716687 -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.org/UKTeam/
