Ok d/l'd the alternate cd to update my x64 systems, it then needed an additional 650Mb downloaded ... why did I bother with the cd???
After upgrade:- firefox new beta problems with the mouse & back space not working. (mouse issues have been reported and is apparently a feature!) Backspace issue fixed, (set browser.backspace_action to 0) but the back/forward mouse buttons still aren't working (button's 6&7 on my mouse) by modifying the mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.action to 2 and the numlines to 2 I get the mouse buttons working but backwards i.e. back goes forward!!! *GRRR* my preferred dock AWN seems to have major issues on hardy and crashes on the comic app and some others so have disabled it for the moment.
