Maybe have a look in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf (possibly on line 4) and see if it mentions iMON. Other than that, haven't a clue, sorry, I don't have a VFD display or the same case as what you have so I'm a bit stumped and can't really try much else as it's bound not to work.
