Hi folks,

Today I've downloaded (and am currently playing with) Linux Mint. I've
got to say, that I'm suitably impressed!

Basically, it's Ubuntu but with all of the media codecs built in and
enabled. It's also got software like flash, realplayer, java etc
installed and ready to run out of the box.

I'm thinking that I may start installing this onto other people's
computers as a drop in Windows replacement. I usually sort Ubuntu out
for them, but end up spending ages installing all of the restricted
codecs, flash, java etc etc when I now find that I don't have to!

In addition, it uses gnome-main-menu which I tend to find seems a
little more natural to people coming from a Windows XP background.

At first glance, it looks like a pretty good way of keeping people
using Ubuntu, whilst giving them an easier out of the box experience.

Has anyone else used Linux Mint, or have any thoughts?

Chris
