Call me cynical but I don't think it is something that would get much
coverage on commercial radio (well, the big stations like The One
Network, maybe the smaller local stations might cover something like
this). Maybe on BBC Radio though.

I'm involved with getting an LTSP setup installed at a local community
centre with funding for monitors coming from the local radio station
charity which provides grants to local charities and groups in the area
which it covers. Something like this would most probably get on air
coverage somehow.

Here's a link to the charitable trust we're applying for funding from:

Maybe this is something that can be done in other areas too?

I've had a look at some of the other stations in the country and they
seem to have kids charities, maybe providing LTSP setups for scout
groups or similar might be eligible for a grant.

Grants don't have to be too large too if you can get hold of some old
machines to use as clients, maybe from local businesses who are
upgrading. Not only is it good advertising for the local businesses
giving back to the community, but it means these old machines are
recycled. The machines we're using were old K62 machines which were
donated by a local school, the school passed them on to us as it would
have cost them to have them disposed of by the council. Because they
passed them on to us, they don't have to pay anything for disposal.
This is something that companies certainly might be interested in.
