http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibibyte It's because the marketing people at the hard disk manufacturers decided that 200GB = 20x1000x1000x1000 whereas in computer software 20GB = 20x1024x1024x1024, what you're seeing is the discrepancy. Cheers, Al.
