Robin, as reported here: http://share.skype.com/sites/linux/2007/06/skype_for_linux_14_beta.html you can submit bugs here: https://developer.skype.com/jira/browse/SCL
Your big sounds like this one: https://developer.skype.com/jira/browse/SCL-62 This means you have a Skype client already running that is locking the data files. When you click the Close button on the Skype client, it continues to run in system tray. On systems without a system tray, this behaviour can be unpredictable. Try opening a console and typing "killall skype", if you don't get an error, then the previous instance was killed and you can start it again. On 7/2/07, Robin Hall <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I have downloaded the latest version of Skype but after I have typed in my password and clicked on "Sign in" I get the following error message, "Database failure". But, not every time. Sometimes I actually do get "signed in" and am able to use Skype. I have put my problem to Skype but I am fobbed off with a reply that the problem is covered in their FAQs. Not that I can find it there. I expect with some 8 million customers it will take a very small proportion of them to email a query to swamp their customer services.
