Probably not, however, I do aim to use NFS occasionally and by default the nfs ports seem closed, so I start by needing (?) to manage ports - that is where firestarter came in. I do not know however, how to reset the ports to (k)ubuntu defaults after use of firestarter. My recent experience relating to this torrent problem suggests that exiting firestarter does not reset ports to kubuntu default (??) or in any case the ports are still subsequently causing trouble for ktorrent. If I could be sure that the ports could later be set to kubuntu default, I could more happily live with that in between times of using nfs when I am presumably making some machines on the (domestic) network more vulnerable, and learning and also experimenting (ports, firestarter, NFS....)
