I'm trying to implement a similar thing for Thanet LUG using mail2forum and phpbb.. I started off using Drupal, but I used the wrong version (5.1 instead of 4.7) and as a result I figure I might as well just redo the whole thing from the begining! I'll let you know how I get on.
