Hi norman, the gimp is pretty much the de-facto standard for free
software image editing and its easily the best thing around for photo
editing but yes i would agree that the steep learning curve is
unfortunately the gimps major stumbling point for people who are new to
free software. If you have a microphone have you every considered
creating a screencast that would show how other people who are new to
photo editing can use the gimp (and ubuntu of course ;)) to achieve
their desired results?
